About the Soirée

Anchored in Excellence is the Northern Virginia Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association’s annual spring fundraiser and Scholarship Soirée. This event brings our Hampton family together with friends and supporters to celebrate legacy, service, and the impact of giving back.

The 2026 Soirée will be held at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria, home to the nation’s largest collection of working artists’ open studios under one roof—providing a vibrant and inspiring setting for an evening rooted in creativity, community, and purpose.

Guests can expect an evening that blends meaningful impact with music and mingling in a vibrant, art-filled setting.

Proceeds from the Soirée support scholarships awarded to students from the Northern Virginia area who are attending Hampton University, helping to ensure continued access to opportunity through education.

“I cannot wait to dance the night away, reconnect with classmates, share some laughs, and support our amazing scholars!”

Dr. Sharmaine M. McCoy, NOVA Chapter President (Class of 2000)
